A. We do make many different color combinations of most toys. Unfortunately it is too difficult to match too many requests. We will do our best to match the "body" color, but if we custom made each toy, we could not keep our costs as low as they are.
Q. What is the difference between a small train engine and a tiny train engine?
A. The small train engine is made from 1" stock and does not attach with magnets, nor does is fit on the wooden track. The tiny train engine does have magnets and attaches to all tiny train pieces.
Q. Are the paints or finishes a problem?
A. No, we use natural linseed oil and all non toxic paints.
Q. What kind of wood are they made from?
A. We use mainly birch, which is a hardwood and some maple. All the toys are made from hardwood.
Q. Will my BRIO or THOMAS the Train work with your tiny train sets, on the tracks and the train boards?
A. Yes, TUFFTOYS is compatible with all leading brand manufacturers of wooden train tracks. We have found some of the maufacturers who have their product made off shore, may not fit properly.
Q. Are these toys imported?
A. No we manufacture the toys in our home. Some smaller parts we have to purchase, due to the volume we use. And some parts we have to have custom made for us.
Q. If we don't have a train track board can we still buy the small pieces or accessories?
A. No problem, we just give you a 1" wheel and the signs, teees and snowmen will stand up on their own.
Q. What do you charge for shipping?
A. We charge what ever the postage cost it. Usually $10.00-$20.00 depending on what is ordered. If you host a home party, the cost is divided between all who attended
Q. Can I buy your toys in any stores?
A. Yes. On our web site we link to all the stores who carry our products. Not all stores carry all our products though.
Q. Do you make bigger track boards?
A. Yes we do make a 3' X 3' but we have found it is actually too big if it is put on the floor. The kids will sit down to play and will have to get up and move, to get to the other side. The more they have to get up and down, the more frusterated they become. We have had people buy two of the smaller boards and put them together with some straight track and a couple of double male pieces. This way they can sit between the two boards and still operate them from one spot.
Q. What does the post do on the tiny train cars?
A. The post is for animals. The animals have a hole drilled in their bellies to sit on the posts. Some people use the blocks we have, and write the child's name on to personalize the train car.
